Bronze
Mission
The Bronze Group introduces young swimmers (10 & younger) to competitive swimming in a fun and positive environment. Swimmers will build fundamental skills, such as body alignment, head position, and kicking while fostering a lasting interest in the sport. They will also learn the basics of competition and meet behavior.
Goals
- Master fundamentals in all strokes, starts, and turns.
- Learn race strategies and competition behavior.
- Build confidence and teamwork.

Expectations
- Attendance: Swimmers are strongly recommended to maintain 70% attendance to ensure consistent progress.
- Preparedness: Swimmers must arrive on time and bring all required equipment.
- Meet Participation: Swimmers are expected to participate in SST-hosted meets, Intra-squad meets, and 1 other USA sanctioned meet.
Advancement Criteria
To advance to the Bronze Group, swimmers must meet the following criteria:
- Bronze 1 (9 years old and under)
- Demonstrate proper streamline technique.
- Complete the following events with legal technique:
- 50 Freestyle
- 50 Backstroke
- 25 Breaststroke and/or
- 25 Butterfly
- Bronze 2 (10 years old and under)
- Demonstrate proper streamline technique.
- Complete the following events with legal technique:
- 50 Freestyle
- 50 Backstroke
- 50 Breaststroke and/or
- 50 Butterfly
